1: The basic game
There are 20 Shuffledot tiles in total.
Place the tiles face down between the players and take it in turns to pick and place a tile from the pool to form the longest line of connected dots.
2: Picking and placing the tiles
Tiles can be placed in any positon, but must be connected.
The first player to pick a tile with 3 or more of the same color will play that color for the rest of the game.
3: Slides
After their first turn, players can choose to 'slide' instead of picking a new tile.
Drag a tile along its longer edge to a new valid position and place a counter on the tile to indicate that it can't move again
The tile above moves on its longer edge to a valid position (hoops gain advantage).
Play your slides wisely as you only have 2!
Step 4: Winning the game
When the tiles run out, the longest traceable line wins.
White edged the game with a line of 18 to black's 16.
Alternatives (1)
Alternative ways to play the game allow for different strategies and challenges:
Hands: Players pick 3 tiles each at the beginning of the game and pick a new tile each time they place one. This allows for more strategic planning and decision-making in the game.
Face up: Lay out half (or all) the tiles face up, so you can see the hoops and dots. This version reduces the element of luck in the game.
Alternatives (2)
Islands: Start by placing 3 tiles face up on the table. These are your islands (they shouldn't jointogether). Use the even tiles (2b, 2w) for the islands.
Players now place tiles and slide on any of the islands. The player with the longest line on 2 of the 3 islands wins. This can get very tactical!
Islands can work for 3 or 4 players. Each player "owns" an island. The winner is the island with the longest line. Players place tiles and slide on any island!
Players take turns placing tiles on a grid to create lines of their color (black or white). When the tiles run out, the player with the longest line wins the game.
There are 12 tiles. The first player to pick a tile with 3 or more of the same color will play that color for the rest of the game.
Step 1: Pick and place a tile
Pick a tile on the left or click the "Pick a tile" button.
Rotate (if you want) and drag the tile to the desired position on the board.
When you've placed your first tile, the ShuffleBot will make its move.
Step 2: Placing tiles
After shufflebot's go you can now place a second tile.
Tiles can be placed horizontally or vertically in any positon, but must have a least one dot in line with another.
Step 3: Sliding tiles
After the first turn, players can choose to 'slide' instead of picking a new tile.
Drag a tile on the board along its longer edge to a new valid position.
The tile above moves on its longer edge to a valid position and hoops gain advantage.
Play your slides wisely as you only have 2!
Step 4: Winning the game
When the tiles run out, the longest traceable line wins.
White edged the game with a line of 18 to black's 16.
Keeping score
As you play, all the information you need is displayed above the board.
You can play as many times as you like. Enjoy your battles with the shufflebot!
